Virtual machines having virtual hard disks stored on Premium storage are not supported for backup.

I'm getting the following error when trying to register an Azure virtual machine server to backup - "Virtual machines having virtual hard disks stored on Premium storage are not supported for backup".

What does this mean and how do I get around it to back up my Azure virtual machine server?
