I received an email today suggesting I sign up for the Windows Azure Online Backup Preview. I'm in Australia, which isn't in the drop-down list of country/region.
Should I
- Choose the closest region to me (probably Japan); or
- Not sign up now and instead wait until later
I only ask because it says the region can't be changed afterwards. I appreciate why that is the case, but what I don't know is if Australia will be added as an entry in its own right in the future. If that will never happen (eg our Microsoft data centre is actually in Singapore) then I might as well sign up and choose Japan now.
This seems like an excellent service that I'd love to trial internally and then encourage clients to use - I just don't want to muck things up in future by jumping in ahead of time now and setting a value that I won't be able to change.
