Scheduled Backup Fails which manual works

We are backing up two Azure Linux VMs using Recovery Services.  These are almost identical VMs.  One is backed up successfully every day as scheduled.  They other fails with the following message:

Could not communicate with the VM agent for snapshot status. Snapshot VM sub task timed out.

We had on successful manual backup of this VM and have tried moving the backup time to be different that the other VM.  Any ideas?
