I have followed the video instructions to install and configure Microsoft Azure Backup Server on premises. I also found an MSDN video which showed how to set up a Protection Group, select servers and what data I wanted to backup. I manually created a restore point to test the system was working and selected disk protection, then followed it up with an online protection using the most recent disk protection. No errors have been received and everything seems to be going well so far.
However, when I look at the Azure portal under the Recovery Services Vault, I see my MABS server (Settings > Backup Infrastructure > Backup Management Servers) but the nothing listed anywhere showing any servers or data is being backed up. Backup Items? 0. Backup Jobs? 0. Backup Usage? 0. Replicated Items? 0. Recovery Plans? 0. Recovery Jobs? 0.
Is this normal, or am I missing something? Are we not supposed to be changed£3.0545 per protected instance + storage consumed? How can we tell how much we are going to be charged if the portal shows nothing as being backed up?
Also, is it normal that despite having a Visual Studio MSDN subscription we receive zero technical support from Microsoft for Azure?
