MS Azure Backup (the customized DPM Backup app) fails to restore files completely

When testing restores from Azure (online recovery) of any file/folders, the restore to the C:\Azure Backups Staging\GUID folder seems to work fine, but the recovery from the staging area to the actual intended restore location always fails.

Unfortunately, the only information provided is the error message is "The synchronization job failed due to an internal error. (ID 117).  And the suggest URL (https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/help/3041338/data-protection-manager-error-codes) doesn't offer anything useful.  It states "For other types of data, create a recovery point, and then select Create a recovery point after synchronizing".  That isn't too useful since we are RESTORING a file/folder, not trying to create a recovery point --- we are using a recovery point to restore information otherwise we would not have had the option to try to recover the data.

Yes, I can manually copy the data from the "staging area" to the intended selected recovery folder, but the error message wasn't at all helpful.

Has anyone else ran into this issue?

This is for a relatively small client and since the paid support options cost more than their cost of the service, they likely are NOT taking the option of paying for support.
