Vault Activity Log for Backups

Hi All

Bit of a weird one, which is both very temperamental and Frustrating.

We have a VM in Azure that backs up daily. We have configured the activity log on the recovery services vault to send us an email on the operation name "Backup Protected Item"

This allows us to receive emails for Successful backups. 

This has worked well for us over the last 3 months, however recently the activity isn't being written to the log in the vault daily, even when the portal suggests that the backup has completed successfully. 

Can anyone help or is anyone experiencing this?
