wmi writer,system writer gets timed out when backup triggered from vault

Hi,

I'd like to get a suggesion on Azure VM backup. One of our DB is unable to get backed up for a long period error : Extension Failed VSS Writer in Bad State when investigated further we've found the wmi writer & system writer gets timed out when running command vssadmin  list writers so we restarted the services along with vss & WA agent & found out all writers in stable state. But when we trigger the backup it fails with same error & the writers gets timed out. Upon viewing suggestion provided in portal it's recommended to restart services & reboot unit. But as it is one of our production server a reboot would halt the services to restarted after 9 hrs long. So a solution without reboot would be highly appreciated.
