Hello,
I am using a backup vault to protect my small VMs. However I have several VMs that have too many disks attached to be protected. For those I am using file/folder based backups using the Windows Azure Backup tool (uses volsnap behind the scenes). I have two questions:
- If I backup my entire C drive using the windows azure backup tool would I be able to restore that as a new VHD and then create a new VM off of that? This would be in the scenario that something gets corrupted on the OS vhd or human error causes problems. We'd like to know DR wise how we could recover. We use GRS so we don't expect to lose the disks but the bad "stuff" would be replicated both locally (3 copies) and the other data center.
- Is there a way to have multiple backup schedules with the Windows Azure Backup tool? I'd like to backup the C drive once a week, but backup up our other files/directories like database .bak files every day. I don't see a way in the tool to specify more than one schedule
Thanks,
Sean
