How can I backup (and obviously be able to Restore) NTFS folder permissions from a Microsoft Azure Client 'File & Folder' backup. It behaves like a copy/paste
restore which just inherits the parent folder permissions.

Running Azure BAckup on a 2012 server. It was working fine until I installed a required patch/update. Now I'm getting the following message in Azure Backup:"Job completed with warnings"

These are files that are stored on the server. This has happened two days in a row, but with different files listed in the Failed File List.
I can recover the files in the list. Any idea why this is happening and how to fix it? Any help is appreciated.

Can Azure Backup( Azure IaaS VM ) provide Application Consistent backups for Windows Azure VMs(created with managed disks)?

I created a VM with Managed Disks(4 data disks), and configured Azure Backup.
As a result, there are Restore-Points of File-System Consistent only.
I hope that Azure Backup can backup the Managed Disk VMs with Application Consistent backups.
Would you like to tell me how I can get Application Consistent backups?

Move database backups from On prem to azure VM
I am trying to figure out how to move backups between on prem and azure, how isnt extremely important as long as it goes straight from on prem to the azure VM. Xcopy, net use, drive mapping are all fine. The idea is to automate this procedure.
Right now I have 445 and 139 open on prem and in azure but none of the things above are working. I would like to move from On prem to an attached datadisk on the azure VM. Are there additional requirements?
ID requirements?
More firewalls?
Something random that I wouldnt even think of? I have read all the articles I can get my hands on but, connections still cant be established.

Azure MARS agent files backup error after Windows 10 April Update
Using MARS agent 2.0.9118.0, backup process failed with this error:
The operation failed because of a protection agent failure. Retry the operation. (0x08752)
The process restarts after some minutes and it works. Every first scheduled time it fails, in the second attempt it works!

Azure VM Snapshot level backup issue
We have an Azure Virtual Machine with 2 TB disks.
Within the virtual machine, we are using Storage Replica as a feature instead of DFSR for replicating disks to other virtual machine.
Whenever we run an Azure Snapshot level backup, it fails every time. It fails with the message that VSS writers are not stable.
I make writers be stable by restarting respective service and then rerun the backup, it fails again. Upon checking the logs, I found that it might have to do with storage replica. Is there a way to exclude a drive from Azure Snapshot level backup.
Any clues what can be done to fix this.

maintenance backup plan fails for SQL 2016 IaaS when trying to backup to a Blob.
I am trying to use a backup maintenance plan for sql 2016(windows 2016) IaaS and place these SQL backups in a Blob.
The below SQL query runs successfully and I am able to do a manual backup successfully to the blob. However when I create a maintenance backup plan ( only a full backup is configured ) it fails with the error below this sql query.

I have recorded the URL from the container properties so I know this is correct.
SAS token was generated then copied into the query.
When creating the backup maintenance plan I choose URL on the general tab. Destination tab has SQL cred, Azure storage container, URL prefix, and backup extension.
SQL Cred = there is a pull down so I can choose the relevant choice.
Azure storage container = this populates automatically with the container name when I enter the URL prefix.

How can I check retention period?

I have 3 backups (3 weeks) from VM. After second backup, retention period was changed to actual rt - 12 weeks.
How can I check retention period of single backups? Now I don´t know if first 2 backups have retention period 20 weeks or 10 or 5 weeks.

if I schedule a daily backup to azure of files/folders at hour x and the client computer is offline at that time: will it start backing up when it comes online or should I ensure that the client is online at hour x?

Restore all database at once from Recovery Services vaults
Hello everyone,
I am using Sql Express, so I have some limitations on backups to the azure. But Recovery Services vaults are able to make backups directly from the sql server express of the VMs in the azure, which is a spectacular feature.
The problem is that I frequently need to restore all databases at once, and I still can not figure out if it's possible, I can only do one at a time, and I have a good dozen DBs.
Is it possible to restore everything at once through the portal or through T-SQL script?

Azure Server Backup not pulling latest backup points
On Friday, August 24th, I was able to download a system state image for a server that recently became corrupted. I am now trying to download the volumes that were backed up from the system, but the Azure Server Backup client now does not see the most recent restore points that were taken on August 15th.
When logging into the Azure portal, I can see that the volumes and system state were all backed up successfully on 8/15. Even the system state restore point I downloaded last week dated August 15th will no longer show up in the Azure Server Backup client. Like the volume backups, it only shows the July 29th back ups as the latest available.
Furthermore, when I try to download the older volume backup that shows as the latest available (July 29th), it repeatedly fails due to an unexpected error and says to contact Microsoft support. And when I go to contact support, Microsoft wants me to subscribe. Which is honestly ridiculous to have to subscribe to get support on a product I already pay for.
