We just recently setup a Recovery Services Vault in Azure. In our vault I am trying to change the "Backup Infrastructure" settings.
I am trying to select the correct Storage replication type but both "Locally-redundant & Geo-redundant" options are grayed out.
I have an on premise MABS server installed and registered. Is there a way to make this so that it is only Locally-redundant?

Hi, I would like to delete a recovery services vault. It has a backup item within it which I have attempted to delete. To delete the item you have to enter the name of the server from which the backup is to be deleted. I have entered this but the 'delete' button remains greyed out. How should I proceed?

If I am using site-recovery,
1. A VM replication will also replicate SQL database to Azure destination, I assume application part.
2. If not, how SQL database replication will be followed or integrated with Site Recovery?

Hello all, I´m getting this error when trying to register our DPM server (2012 R2 CU9). We checked everything related to network connectivity (NICs, cables, switches, routers, firewall, even different internet connections) and didn´t found any errors.
The strange thing is, the backup data is uploading OK, but for example restore information or used space is not showing in the DPM console.
In the agent log, sometimes appears this entry:

Our company currently uses Microsoft Azure Backup Server to backup files to a local NAS on site and doesn't actually send to the cloud--we just keep the local disk backups. Largely speaking it has worked fine in backing up various things including virtual machines from a couple vSphere environments and standalone ESXi hosts, backing up some files on a Windows server and SQL backups--both using agent based backups.
However, today I am running into an issue while trying to do some test restores of files from inside of this virtual machine. Some files / folder paths I can restore no problem, others I'm running into a problem that looks like the below:
DPM cannot access the path \\?\Volume{3d7580ce-9a61-4c7d-9046-a8c7a703d933}\EDI\AAAC\IMAGES\ because part of the path has been deleted or renamed.
Check the path and enter it again.

Details: Internal error code: 0x80990F43The above pops up on the screen when I try to browse to the offending path on the MABS server when trying to browse inside of the VMDK file to restore. The virtual machine has showed no errors on nightly backups and I have no issues restoring a large number of other files / folders on this machine with similar paths. I'm currently running MABS version 3 (listed in the About info, it says 13.0.415.0).
Any ideas of what to look into?

I get this error when backing MS file Share Cluster at several customers. This error only happens with these file cluster. All other (SQL ans SQL Clusters, VMs, Servers with agent installed). The error happens almost each day and involves different files...
I have tried to look into CBEngineCurr.errlog, but I couldn't see anything relevant.
MARS 2.0.9169.0 is installed.

i have faced a issue when i try to delete the vault and i don't have any backup items and not have a service attached to vault
I just setup a brand new MABS server using server 2019 Standard and MABS version 3 connected to a Vcenter environment running 6.7. I am getting this below error when it tries to do the online recovery job but local backups are being done without issue.
The last online recovery point creation failed for the following reason: (ID: 3188) An unexpected error occurred while the job was running. (ID: 104)
Was wondering if anyone has any ideas why a brand new setup would not be working or what step i might have missed for it not to work?

Either I understand instant VM recovery wrong or something doesn't work for me properly.
I'm restoring a VM from the latest recovery point to the different storage account under the different resource group.
I'm now monitoring the job progress and it doesn't look like instant recovery at all.
Is it meant to be like this or I've done something wrong.

The Azure VM backup policy has only two options; Daily & Weekly. So, we won’t be able to schedule multiple backups in a day (will have to run them manually from portal).
Questions:
1.Option: Backup Now – used for manually triggering the backup for VM à is it a incremental backup (Full snapshot but only changes are sent to Vault) or it takes a full backup (Full snapshot & transferring the full data again to the Vault).
2.is there a powershell script which can be used as a runbook to take multiple backups of a VM in a single day (twice)? If yes, will these backups be incremental or full on each occasion?

It seems that it's not possible to manage or edit the backup schedule of an on-premise, MARS-protected server from the Azure Portal, and it has to be done physically on the server running MARS? Is that correct, because it seems like a major flaw in the product if that is the case. If it *is* possible from the Azure Portal, where is that option located?

I am uploading my files from Mac OS to Azure file storage . My internet speed upload and download is 50mbs . However uploading speed on Azure is 2.80 mbs. My total project is 1.6TB and files upload is from 3-35gb on certain files .

I want to backup my SQL Server DB with Azure Recovery Services. I'm creating a backup with type "SQL Server in Azure VM (Preview)" and check the respective VMs for discovery. As expected, the "UserErrorSQLNoSysadminMembership" error occurs, because the SQL Server DB is installed manually after VM deployment, so it's not a preconfigured Azure SQL Server VM, but a Windows VM with SQL Server installation.
After discovering the VMs with Windows 2016 and SQL Server 2014/2016, I added DB login for "NT SERVICE\AzureWLBackupPluginSvc" user and gave it sysadmin server role as per documentation. Then I'm running "Rediscover DBs", but I'm still getting the "UserErrorSQLNoSysadminMembership" error. I also tried with restarting all services and also restarting the VMs, same result.
Any clue?

My main hard drive started dying couple days back and i've my server running on a new HD, but im having issues with azure backup agent.
When i try to register the server (name alias on domain), i get this error
"A ativação não foi concluída com êxito. Microsoft Azure Backup encountered an internal error. Wait for a few minutes and then try the operation again. If the issue persists, please contact Microsoft support."
The vault credentials are from today, the passphrase i was absolutely sure it was right, even more cause i had the file saved, but for troubleshooting i already gone and chanced a new passphrase using OLD faulty hard drive, and i still get the same error. Any
ideias?
I can not delete the resource vault, i got almost 2 years backup and i cant lose that. Why else would i pay azure if losing my backups was an option.
