Hi,
I have only one Hyper-V VM on-prem that I need to make available if I lose it such as when the whole office/server goes down. I plan to use Azure Backup. I have a couple of questions:
1. Do I have to install Azure Backup Server on-prem in order to communicate with the Recovery Service Vault in Azure?
2. If my office/server goes down, can I restore the VM locally in Azure and make it available again? It seems to me even if this is doable, it will take some time to restore. This server is mostly for external communication so some DNS changes need to be made for sure.
I see Azure Backup server is free (but Recovery Service Vault is not I suppose). I am also looking into Azure Site Recovery but it looks expensive and seems to be an overkill for one on-prem VM.
Thanks,
